The preparation for the Rolex event provides momentum for the second event of 2020 The Omega Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Course.
A very solid two weeks on the road for Jack as he records 2 top 20 finishes at both events in the UAE. The Omega Dubai Desert Classic saw Jack finish tied 16th place with 2 of his 2018 challenge tour graduates Grant Forrest and Victor Perez. Not to mention sitting comfortably around major winners like Lowry, Kayman and Garcia. With narrowed fairways, thicker rough and lightning-fast greens made the Emirates golf course a much tougher proposition than in recent years, having last played there 2018. Staying under par with a testing wind proved an excellent result for day one. Getting out early on Friday morning meant we could get the job done in testing sand and wind.
Emirates Golf Club turned Pink on Saturday to raise awareness for breast cancer charities. Pink everywhere including the flags, golfers and fans turned out in pink to support such a great cause. On the final day, I think we experienced every element except snow. The course was already tough but with the wind, sun and then the rain made it was a round of ups and downs. A birdie on the 18th in sunshine completed a challenging week at Emirates golf course. Next stop Saudi International at Royal Greens G&CC King Abdullah Economic City.
